On saturday we will be having a solar eclypse here ;-) Me loves trivial information ;-P So for more information on the eclypse in Icelandic of course, have a browse by the official page of the Universities of Icelands almanak...

Blönduós start;03:08:39 middle;04:04:57 the end;05:02:38
Reykjavík start;(03:08:38) middle;04:04:18 the end;05:01:20

And if dispersing this information freely as if it were of majer importance isn´t enough to make you the most annoying person around ;-) then find some better ways on the page here ;-P truly excellent ideas, some of which I´ve already used and some which I´ll be sure to use at a later date ;-D

Hugo Weaving day in Blönduós

Tick

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994)

This is of course a classic, although I, admittedly gave up half way through, but again in my defence I was fairly young and sitting in a very sandy plastic chair, trying to watch the video on a tiny screen with very bad reception. All the time being hassled by two extremely large dogs who paid absolutely no regard to the fact that I was very badly sunburnt...Low :: High

A visual as to what I was up to last weekend ;-)

On Saturday night, after the joys of motherhood versus fifteen crazed youngsters, I decided to show Svava around the intriguing nightlife of Blönduós. An ex student, one whom you can find in my links under the nick Vikka, had with her a digital camera and the rest is visual history ;-) Some are cute and others just plain scary !! Clubbing in Blönduós is very interesting due to the following facts,
1. there is no club, there is but one little, admittedly very cozy, coffee house.
2. most of the people one will meet out are these days ex students of mine, which kind of puts the ethical and moral scenario into play. Not to mention how old it makes ME feel :-/.
My friend Gunnar, an ex student but of course, one who has helped me home at least on one occasion ;-) no comment. Sylvía Rún, a fine student ;-) Tobbi, admittedly not an ex student. Nina, a south
African expatriate. Anna Margrét and Valur looking extremely cute ;-P Björgvin doing what he does best :-)

A slightly different view of the university of Iceland ;-) What ever is he doing ??????

Thought, so there I go next autumn, to either study how to be a teacher or how to speak Japanese... how´s that for a choice ;-P

Intresting view for sports fanatics !! ;-P ekki fyrir ykkur krakkar samt :Þ

I'm not anti-social. Society is anti-me

I wish people spoke in subtitles. Then I could just close my eyes

Fighting for peace is like fucking for viginity

Consciousness: that annoying time between naps

People who live happily ever after are in some serious denial

I'm not weird. Im normal, and everyone else is weird

Never take life too seriously. It´s only a temporary situation anyway

Guys are like slinkies: Fun to play with, but you can't help but smile when one falls down a flight of stairs.

Found these quotes on Minions Illuminat site ;-) a site I´ll have to have a better browsearound later :-)

o.k. I´m going overboard here ;-)

Try your hand at typing, this could possibly induce students to type faster :-) add a little bit of text that one needs to follow correctly and "vavoom" typings skills would be magnified......

p.s.Try the "J"

Need to hire anyone, anyone ? ;-)

Hot news ;-P

imagePublicity-shy The Matrix Reloaded director Larry Wachowski left his wife of 15 years following an affair with a dominatrix. Larry, 37, appeared at the Cannes Festival premiere of Matrix Reloaded with 36-year-old blonde Karin Winslow last week. Wachowski - who writes and directs the hit movies with brother Andy Wachowski - is reported to have left his wife Thea after hiring Winslow's services, leaving her transsexual husband fuming. Jake Miller, estranged husband of Winslow, is now alleging in British newspaper The Mail On Sunday that Larry is a cross-dresser who ran off with his wife. He says, "He stole my wife from me and he crossed over the boundaries. I'm not saying I'm a saint, but I am telling the truth. Larry Wachowski is living a lie. He has been cross-dressing for years and everybody knows it. But in Hollywood, money talks. And if you are the director of a hit like The Matrix, you can get away with anything. I hope Larry is man enough to hear what I am saying and to come out and admit who - or what - he is. I want people to know the truth. When Larry walked down the red carpet with my wife, he was probably wearing a bra and panties under his suit."

From me to Jake ;-) Get over it..... going straight to the press seems awfully ostentatious

Anyways, ;-) funny where lives little twists and turns take people ;-P

Just take a left and roll down the stairs.................................

Línan - The line

Just found the greatest homepage ;-) This was by far my favorite cartoon ever !!! So incredibly simple and yet so ... so ... well have look for yourself :-)
My dad and Steini will be grinning their heads off now, back when we lived in Italy I couldn´t skip a single episode of "Kiss me Licia, Kiss me" I had all the stickers and .. well I have the fairly excuse of having been at the tender age of 12 ;-)

So How good is your English? I have to admit to having made one mistake :-( How did you do?

Next I took the ambassador test, o.k. they labelled me an ambassador but I don´t think 9 out of eleven takes me quite there ;-)

I only got five out of ten on the vocabulary test :-/ now that has me worried :-( However the eight out of ten on the spelling bee cheered me up a little ;-)

And last but not least I had a go at the Harry Potter test, got eleven out of twelve there ;-)

My nine and tenth graders
Smoke free !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you wondering about the connection and the term "my" I´m a teacher in a fairly small semi-rural elementary and middle school ;-) And they´re all mine !! Mine I tell you ... Muuhhhaahhahaa, my precious, my precssssscious ;-)

Me be very mad, yes, right ? blink blink
;-)

:-) Now for the fun stuff !!!

Here two subjects of debate meet and answer the age old question "Does Barbie" have plastic tits" ;-) Pole dancing Barbies, see it to believe it!

Then ... have your very own hunted furniture, levitating beds, daning chests of drawers and a familiar spook to sit on your bedpost ;-)

And finally a photo with no need for words :-)

This weekend is shaping up to be a good, albeit a busy one ;-) Tomorrow we´ll be celebrating Ragnars birthday by holding a big birthday party. Admittingly the birthday per se isn´t until the middle of July, but, we are moving away and I want him to be able to have a party with the whole of his class instead of a couple of second or third cousins in July. So we´re shaping up for a loud and energetic afternoon tomorrow :-) My friend Svava will be visiting me as well, we won´t mention that this is the first time she´s visited me since I came to live here three years ago will we ;-P So I´ll be needing a babysitter tomorrow evening so I can introduce her to the marvellous nightlife to be found in Blönduós ;-) Jesting aside it is a most excellent of coffee houses, with nice service and excellent food !!!! So I of course popped over to the liquor store (yes I said that in the singular, there is only the one state run liquor store open only during regular store hours) leaving my sick children at home by themselves ;-) shocked? hey the worst that could have happened for those 10 minutes would have been a sheep nussling up against the balcony door ;-) There at the store they were having a grand fiesta (loosely translated, horse rides, jumping castle and hot dogs ;-) so after feeling extremely obvious in my alchohol buying I went straight home to pick up the kids, hey, admittingly they´re sick, caughing and have a temperature but, a festival like this only happens once a year here .... And they of course loved the horse rides !!
Anyways better get back to tidying up and keeping up the appearences of being a super mom ;-)

Penis size to be measured by the size of ones feet...

Now here´s something I´ll need your opinion on, gentlemen readers...is there something to this or.. not ?? Apparently there has been quite a discussion on the matter and results differ between places, for instance this research made in the Uk deemed that there was, in fact, no real correlation between a mans shoe size and the size of his penis.;-P
The best reaction to this, in my opinion, was the opinion of the researcer himself...
"results indicate that raw IQ and number of research papers are the best predictors of a large penis."

We´ll take that with a pinch of salt thank you ;-)

Turns out my earlyer story of the necessity for Klingon speaking officials was not quite as true as it could have been, the original story was that they were searching for people with the different languages just in case they´d ever be needed...

Philip K. Dick

"Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away."

Paranoid and profound, Philip K. Dick's mind-altering, ground-breaking science-fiction novels are influential, infectious and highly attractive to anyone, Hollywood included. Four films at least two of which have been immensely popular have been based on his work. It is also rumored that Stanley Kubrick's/Steven Spielbergs film, A.I., is based on Dick's Martian Time Slip. These films, in turn, have caused a resurge in interest in Dick's work; there is a proliferation of quality trade editions of his formerly near out-of-print work. Dick's jittery paranoid vision appeals to contemporary readers, and his dominant theme of the fragility of "reality" particularly lends itself to filmmaking. hint.. the matrix..? ( the book from which Neo removes the diskette right at the beginning is, I´m pretty sure, written by Philip, Simulacra)

During his 1928-82 life span, Dick was a prolific author, with over forty science-fiction novels, several "mainstream" novels, countless stories, and a personal memoir to his credit. Exploring present, future and other-dimensional worlds, Dick always questioned and attacked the fabric of reality. Whether by drugs, technology, schizophrenia, conspiracies, or random twists of fate, Dick's characters lose their grip on life, and find all they perceive as real to be spurious or immaterial. They descend through layer upon layer of false realities until they reach the very foundation of what MUST be real, and then Dick begins to pick away at that also. I promised you yesterday an insidersview into the religious thought of Philip, and here it is.. just point your mouse to the cartoon and let the journey begin...

Fun: Ah the delicate intersocial rammifications between different nationalities/languages..p.s. be sure to have the sound turned on !!

Not Fun: This is just too sad in its stupidity and deliberate ignorance :-(

:-) Good night and sweet dreams

ps. stay tuned...tomorrow all about Philip K. Dicks religious experiences ;-)
Might explain, minority report and total recall... ... or not ;-)

Guess these people haven´t come accross anyone speaking elvish lately ;-) As you may already have noticed I just love these little idiosyncrasies that makes us unique but still so very human :-) I´ve personally always wanted to learn elvish and TLHINGON HOL

PORTLAND, Oregon (AP) -- Position Available: Interpreter, must be fluent in Klingon

The language created for the "Star Trek" TV series and movies is one of about 55 needed by the office that treats mental health patients in metropolitan Multnomah County.
"We have to provide information in all the languages our clients speak," said Jerry Jelusich, a procurement specialist for the county Department of Human Services, which serves about 60,000 mental health clients.
Although created for works of fiction, Klingon was designed to have a consistent grammar, syntax and vocabulary. And now Multnomah County research has found that many people -- and not just fans -- consider it a complete language.
"There are some cases where we've had mental health patients where this was all they would speak," said the county's purchasing administrator, Franna Hathaway.
County officials said that obligates them to respond with a Klingon-English interpreter, putting the language of starship Enterprise officer Worf and other Klingon characters on a par with common languages such as Russian and Vietnamese, and less common tongues including Dari and Tongan.
